Have your students watch this home video of Ms. Marcela's nieces and nephews sharing what their favorite animals are. This video is just a way to get young kids excited and ready for informal discussion. Then, go around the classroom and have each student share what their favorite animal is. Throughout this activity, you can ask the students questions that will prompt them to think a little deeper. Below are example questions.
