Who We Are
Hey guys! We are future educators. We are currently attending Appalachian State University and majoring in elementary education. This webpage is intended to help children learn and understand the characteristics of various types of animals. We use the mega hit song “What Does the Fox Say” by Ylvis to introduce the concept. Our targeted grade level is kindergarten and our areas of content are science and music. Teachers can find below the North Carolina Standards that are incorporated in this webpage.
The NC Standard Course of Study
North Carolina Essential Standards K-2 Science:
K.L.1-Compare characteristics of animals that make them alike and different from other animals and nonliving things.
North Carolina Essential Standards K-8 Music:
K.CR.1-Understand global, interdisciplinary, and 21st century connections with music.
What We Believe
In the 21st century, it is imperative for educators to incorporate technology into their lesson plans. The Internet encompasses millions of teacher and student resources waiting to be explored. Media helps connect learners to the content in an interactive and exciting manner. Media also takes learning outside of the traditional classroom setting and into a world of endless possibilities. With this webpage, we strive to make learning fun by using popular, age-appropriate music that gets young children interested in the subject matter. By playing to children’s interests, we help them make positive connections to learning. We hope you find this website to be an effective and creative supplement to your lesson.
